Police are investigating after a thief allegedly stole a couple’s car and a campervan while they slept inside.
Officers have been told the vehicle with a camper trailer and annexe was parked at a rest stop on Great Ocean Road near Cumberland River.
Its alleged that around midnight a male offender jumped inside the vehicle with the male and female occupants and their two dogs.
While the couple was sleeping he allegedly drove off.
The 20-year-old Wallan woman inside was injured after she was allegedly dragged a short distance while inside the annexe of the trailer before she fell onto the road.
She suffered minor injuries from the incident.
According to police the 20-year-old man inside remained in the attached camper trailer until the vehicle broke down in Lorne
After the car broke down the offender is alleged to have fled on foot.
One of the dogs, Pablo, is still missing and investigators have released an image of him in the hope someone may have seen him.
